Risk & Methodology Notice
FLAWLINE provides historical research, backtesting and statistical evaluation tools. Read this notice before interpreting any result. Version 2026-10-20, effective 2026-10-20.
1. Historical, not future, results
- Historical results do not guarantee future results.
- PASSED means a configuration passed defined checks over the history used; it does not mean guaranteed profit, safety or a recommendation.
- REJECTED means it failed one or more checks; it does not necessarily mean future losses.
- WATCHLIST indicates historical evidence not strong enough for PASSED without the protocol rejecting the strategy.
- INSUFFICIENT_EVIDENCE expresses the limits of the available evidence: the data do not allow a valid evaluation and no favourable or unfavourable conclusion is given.
2. Limits of backtests
Every backtest simplifies reality. There are risks of overfitting, slippage, insufficient liquidity, costs different from those modelled, market regime changes, data errors and financial loss, including total loss of the capital invested. Crypto-assets are highly volatile.
3. What FLAWLINE does not do
FLAWLINE is designed solely for historical research and deterministic evaluation of user-selected strategy configurations. It does not execute or transmit orders, hold assets, connect to exchange accounts, manage portfolios, or provide personalised investment recommendations. Historical validation results are not instructions or recommendations to buy, sell or hold any crypto-asset.
- No trade execution.
- No order transmission.
- No exchange connections.
- No custody.
- No portfolio management.
- No personalised financial or investment recommendations.
- No buy/sell signals.
- Historical research only: its reports are research reports, not official financial certificates or audits.
4. Why a REJECTED result is useful
A REJECTED result shows which specific check the configuration failed and by how much, which helps discard fragile hypotheses before risking capital. A well documented negative result is evidence too.
